  1. Hi
To my fellow Indians for the next 6 weeks :)

I just want to wish you all a very safe and enjoyable trip to India. I hope you have an awesome time travelling and the many 'interesting' experiences you would have in the next six weeks. I would just want to give a few pointers that could help make your stay comfortable.
If you do have access to phone, call me anytime for any help/info you might need. Give me a missed call and I shall call you back. My no is 864 643 8607. remember, in india incoming calls/minutes are not charged, that is if you use a local sim card.

    1. SAFETY FIRST - Do not travel alone at nights even to short distances. Always have company, and by company I mean some guys around.

    2. INDULGE THY TONGUE - India is known for its food, so try everything you can find, esp the desserts. Drink only bottled water.

    3. LESS IS MORE - Learn to haggle with roadside vendors. Start asking for half the price the vendor quotes and its up to your bargaining skills to get your price. You can always walk away, and he would definitely call you and give you a reduced price. Its NOT RUDE to bargain.

    4. Autorickshaw rides would be fun or any road transport for that matter would be interesting as you will discover the organised chaos of Indian traffic. DO NOT DRIVE ANYTHING IN INDIA.

    5. Public displays of affection will often be treated with contempt from senior citizens and engaging/continuous stares from the younger ones.

    6. Take pictures of anything and everything you want.

    7. Excessive and elaborate hand gestures is recommended while
talking to ppl who dont understand english. Almost everyone knows few words in english

    8. Wear anything that isnt revealing. For girls - tops and long skirts. Guys - It doesn't matter :) Anything that is simple and doesn't attract too much attention.

    9. Interaction - For Girls - Avoid interactions with strange Indian guys , if you find them suspicious. Guys - Most indian girls are shy and may not interact well with the opposite gender. Do not mistake it for being rude. Although it doesn't hold good for college kids who are from the city. Most ppl feel comfortable interacting with their own genders.

    10. On religion-
    a. Most ppl are either Hindus or Muslims and the Muslims are generally very pious/religious. Most hindus follow their rituals and customs, since it is a tradition, but hardly any of them know its meaning or purpose behind it.
b.Im sure you know this, anyways do not directly say their religion is wrong. No one likes to be told they are wrong even if its apparent.
    c. Instead , talk about Jesus and about any personal experiences youve had, about how you were saved and most importantly about the relationship you have NOW with Jesus and how you see life now etc. Because Im sure none of them have personal experiences of any kind with their god (they can't) and it would amaze them when you talk about Christ as a person. Most ppl think about Jesus as some guy who lived 2000 years ago and has no relevance now. So talk about how REAL He is now.

Well, thats all I could think of on top of my head right now, if you have any questions on any other topic, feel free to email (dennyzens@gmail.com) or call (864 643 8607) (Dont worry about calling charges, Give me a missed call, Ill call back and you will not be charged for that) and I shall be glad to assist in any manner possible.

there are a couple of ppl who are not in my friends list, I guess Molly and William S. Please let them know.

Praying for you all. Have a safe and wonderful trip.

    -Denzil
